K. K. Ramachandran Pulavar & his son Koonathara Rajeev had been invited to participate in the 32nd International Arts & Craft Fair in Jerusalem, Israel.
The Fair with about 160 stalls is the largest tourist attraction in the Jerusalem summer season with over 100,000 visitors last year and was divided in several sections:
- The Israeli Pavilion, where more than 150 of Israel's artists and artisans exhibited their work; - The International Food Fair
- Music & Dance Events: The main stage in the Sultan"s Pool withnessed Tenthousands of fans enjoing performances of Israel's best and most popular musicians and entertainers.
- The International Pavilion, where guest artists and artisans from different part of the world exhibited their crafts and works of art and demonstrate their creative process. About 25 countries from the Far East, South America, Europe and Asia, Africa and the Middle East were represented.
For the first time shadow puppetry from China, Indonesia and India participated with authenthic performances and exhibition cum exhibitiuon .
Tolpava Koothu, the Shadow Puppet Theatre of Kerala had been invited to represent an Indian puppet tradition with two performances of about 20 minutes every evening and an exhibition cum sale of tolpava and shadow puppet related items.
